Reply:u have the name and phone number of the person to be contacted. just call him and speak to him. Or send a email to him as asked by him. But in any case dont give your bank account number, just your name, e mail adress, and phone number. If it is genuine they will tell u what do do.If it IS true give them your adress and tell them to send the draft/cheque bu post. They might ask you to send some money to them as administrative charges. If they do that, then this is a clear cut case of fraud/scam. dont send any money. Tell them to deduct the administrative charges from your prize money. Then see what happens.
I did the same and after my e mail telling them to deduct charges their end, the mails stopped.
You must learn first hand, do try the way I have told you
rest is upto you.

Yahoo Pool wont let me load lobby, says can't verify user id, but i can be logged in & use yahoo mail.?
I logged into yahoo, and can use mail, or any other services by yahoo, just not yahoo games. It says " can not verify user id " but it has me logged into yahoo on same ID and lets me do anything else i want on yahoo. The room i am getting the error on is " anyurism " in yahoo pool. I use my yahoo ID " bootem_champ " and also tried other ID's, but still get same error. Why and how do i fix this?
Yahoo Pool wont let me load lobby, says can't verify user id, but i can be logged in %26amp; use yahoo mail.?
They must be having issues today. It's not just you. I can't get into Towers either and I've never had trouble before. Answers was down earlier for maintenance, so they may be doing maintenance on some games as well.

Have any of you ever gotten a Violation notice on Yahoo answers that seemed completely unfair and wrong?
Have you been reported to the Yahoo Administration Staff for no good reason? I have!!! People reporting you “because they can and should” because they don’t like your answers is just plain wrong!!! She did wrong, I’m telling!!! I’ll get him or her into trouble, hahahaha! I’m a customer, damn it, of yahoo answers, not my fault they don’t charge us to use it. Yahoo Answers are fun for me, just like going down to Dairy Queen and getting an ice cream cone. It’s a treat for me, but all that fun goes down the drain when I have to deal with violation notices and administrative notices. Then there is no fun in Yahoo answers for me at all.
I am a customer and although I may not be always right, I demand respect… these violation notices make my blood pressure go up, I get headaches, and I wait for the axe to drop. I write to yahoo, and all I get is a form letter. This is over a free service?
How many of you believe this:
Are Q%26amp;As deleted automatically when they are reported for abuse?
No, they're not automatically deleted. Each abuse report is reviewed by a customer care agent to determine the appropriate action. It isn't possible to "attack" someone by repeatedly reporting them for abuse because deletions are not automatic. Yahoo! Answers adheres to the Yahoo! Privacy Policy.
I saw a lady saw she was going to report me, and in 2 minutes, I got a letter from Yahoo.
I'm really ticked off with all of these righteous people who thing they should turn you in, because they don't agree with you.
What is a tattletale?
Remember the whiny, insecure kid in nursery school, the one who always thought everyone was out to get him, and was always running to the teacher with complaints? Chances are he grew up to be a yahoo answers snitch!!!
Attention or Detention?
From Sue
When a Child Tattles....
Behavior Description
This child likes to 'tell on' everyone. He/she's a chronic tattletale and will be caught up in some of the following phrases: 'Erin won't let me play.............Jason is copying my work..................Kim budded in front of me in line.........Ben took Evan's snack............
Every classroom seems to have tattletales but some children become chronic and telling on others is a frequent occurrence. This child often uses tattling as a form of threatening other children. For instance: 'I'll tell on you if you don't let me play with you.'
Why?
The child who tattletales is usually seeking attention, this child needs to know the difference between appropriate 'telling on somebody' and when it isn't appropriate to tell. Tattletales do so as it gives them a sense of power.
Try and determine what the child's needs are that makes him/her want to seek attention in this fashion. Usually a tattletale has a self-esteem issue, when they tattle, somebody listens and they are gaining the attention they seek which often makes them feel important.
Interventions
Dealing with a tattletale can be tricky. Usually the tattle tale is aware of the routines and rules to be followed and tells on a child that isn't following them. This gives them the opportunity to 'look good' so to speak. It is important to listen to the tattletale, but equally so, the child needs to try and solve the problem on their own. Prompt the child as to how they could resolve the issue.
A one to one with the tattletale is also a helpful method. Remember - acknowledge that the child knows the rules/procedures but that there's a better method of dealing than becoming a tattletale. Always remind the child that there is a place for tattling and it is when a child is in danger or in trouble, for older children it could mean being involved in something illegal.
If the child is a tattle tale because it give him/her a sense of power, you could give him leadership opportunities to help deal with the tattling, focus on the child's strengths and downplay the weaknesses.
Teach the child through role playing, the value of knowing when to tattle and how to solve their own problems instead of tattling. This will take time and will require you to put some scenarios together for practice.
Children should understand the hurtful consequences of tattling and whenever possible, they should apologize for inappropriate tattling.
Children need to be part of the solution and or consequences. Always ask them how they could have resolved the issue instead of tattling.
Avoid lectures and quick irrational decisions. E.g., if you tattle again, you'll be grounded for a year! or you'll have 6 detentions"
Sometimes a tattletale always seems to 'tell on' the same child. In this case, encourage the child to find something positive to say about the child.
Here is Yahoo's numbers in case you want to complain to them, about all of these violation notices being sent out to us, the unsuspecting user of yahoo answers!!!

Sorry to hear your story and I urge you contact representatives by telephone as well as writing letters to them. In my personal opinion I believe in free speech and that is why I choose to live in the U.S. instead of being a first class citizen in the developing country. Here is my two cents and You need to be honest and fair when you fight and make sure you respect others. Remember free speech is a key that we American practice every day. Good luck and try to explain to Yahoo again. This time you might get your point across. Thank you for the information and question.

Yahoo Messenger 8 Unsafe??
I just found this on IWebRadio.com:
NOTE: Users of Yahoo Messenger 8! A virus or code has been inserted into the Yahoo Messenger Beta 8 program. Looks like Yahoo must have hired a former AOL Programmer. It will send a message to the people in your buddy list from you sending them to a website on Geocities UK to view some "Drunk Pics" This site is a Phishing site designed to look like a Yahoo Page and will as them to login with their Yahoo Name and Password. It will also add this code to their installed versions of Yahoo Messenger. We recommend you change your password, uninstall Ver 8 and install the last version of Yahoo Messenger 7.5! You can download it from www.oldversion.com We have no way of knowing how long Yahoo will take to fix this so we suggest you DONT update to the latest version until it IS declared safe!
Any idea if there is any truth in this as it has got me worried about version 8! Thanks.
Nathon.
Yahoo Messenger 8 Unsafe??
No. This is entirely untrue. There have been some problems with v8 Beta ... I think especially when upgrading from v7.5.
There are some spam/phishing messages currently making rounds which send links to undesirable websites but nothing in the actual program itself.
The only likely justification for any truth in this is that one of the many plugins which can be installed as extras to v8 is the culprit. Yahoo released the SDK for creating plugins and anybody may do this but only the ones with the Y! logo can be supported by Yahoo.
Reply:Using the Internet is 'dangerous' of course (in terms of all the undesirable stuff out there). I have always had up to date anti-virus, firewall and anti-spyware installed and I've never yet had any serious problem with chat/messenger software (I don't use chat rooms very much at all, though!) again thanks

Will Yahoo Mail be deactivated if you just log into your Yahoo Groups or Yahoo Messenger only?
I reactivated the Yahoo Mail a while ago to test something, But I no longer plan to use the mail, I been told that if you don't log onto Yahoo Mail for 3 months, It deactivates. But I would like to know if logging onto Yahoo Messenger or into the Yahoo Groups would make it not to deactivate after the 3 months? I don't plan on using the mail, But still access my Yahoo ID for my other things like my Yahoo Messenger or the Groups and everything else from Yahoo.com

no
ur mail is attached with ur account
it will not be deactivated

Reply:Those will still work even if your yahoo mail is deactivated.

Reply:Probably, if it is inactive within 6 months.
Reply:The way I understand it, and this has happened to me, an account is deactivated in you do not sign in for a period of either 60 or 90 days. By signing into your Y! Groups account you will keep the account active, since you are signing-in to the account. I guess using Messenger will work, too, since it accesses the user database.
Reply:Those will still work even if your yahoo mail is deactivated.
Reply:3 months it is deactivated and have to sign up again if u use messenger than it is active.
Reply:no

Subject: Fwd: YAHOO IS CLOSING DOWN
Hi everyone
be blessed in this wonderful season
Dear YAHOO User,
Because of the sudden rush of people signing up to YAHOO, it has come to our attention that we are vastly running out of resources. So, within a month's time, anyone who does not receive this email with the exact subject heading, will be deleted off our server. Please forward this email so that we know you are still using this account.
We want to find out which users are actually using their YAHOO accounts. So if you are using your account, please pass this e-mail to every YAHOO user that you can and IF YOU DO NOT PASS this letter to anyone we will delete your account.
From Mr. ALLEN SMITH
YAHOO Admin. Dept.
Our YAHOO system is getting to crowded!! We need you to forward this to at least 20 people. I know this seems like a large number, but we need to find out who is really using their account. If you do not send t his to at least 10 YAHOO members, we will delete your account. Sorry for this inconvenience.
Sincerely, Director of YAHOO Services
BOB LOPEZ

Reply:You surely didn't need to copy the entire message just so we'd understand you got a bogus message from Yahoo. And I sincerely hope you weren't foolish enough to send this bogus message to 20 of your best friends so they could perpetuate this ridiculous crap. Yahoo has kindly given us all a spam button for such things as this. Please use it.
Reply:That is not true cz they would have sent that to everyone and only a few pwoplw got it
