Reply:u have the name and phone number of the person to be contacted. just call him and speak to him. Or send a email to him as asked by him. But in any case dont give your bank account number, just your name, e mail adress, and phone number. If it is genuine they will tell u what do do.If it IS true give them your adress and tell them to send the draft/cheque bu post. They might ask you to send some money to them as administrative charges. If they do that, then this is a clear cut case of fraud/scam. dont send any money. Tell them to deduct the administrative charges from your prize money. Then see what happens.

I did the same and after my e mail telling them to deduct charges their end, the mails stopped.

You must learn first hand, do try the way I have told you

rest is upto you.

Yahoo Pool wont let me load lobby, says can't verify user id, but i can be logged in & use yahoo mail.?

I logged into yahoo, and can use mail, or any other services by yahoo, just not yahoo games. It says " can not verify user id " but it has me logged into yahoo on same ID and lets me do anything else i want on yahoo. The room i am getting the error on is " anyurism " in yahoo pool. I use my yahoo ID " bootem_champ " and also tried other ID's, but still get same error. Why and how do i fix this?

Yahoo Pool wont let me load lobby, says can't verify user id, but i can be logged in %26amp; use yahoo mail.?
They must be having issues today. It's not just you. I can't get into Towers either and I've never had trouble before. Answers was down earlier for maintenance, so they may be doing maintenance on some games as well.

Have any of you ever gotten a Violation notice on Yahoo answers that seemed completely unfair and wrong?

Have you been reported to the Yahoo Administration Staff for no good reason? I have!!! People reporting you “because they can and should” because they don’t like your answers is just plain wrong!!! She did wrong, I’m telling!!! I’ll get him or her into trouble, hahahaha! I’m a customer, damn it, of yahoo answers, not my fault they don’t charge us to use it. Yahoo Answers are fun for me, just like going down to Dairy Queen and getting an ice cream cone. It’s a treat for me, but all that fun goes down the drain when I have to deal with violation notices and administrative notices. Then there is no fun in Yahoo answers for me at all.

I am a customer and although I may not be always right, I demand respect… these violation notices make my blood pressure go up, I get headaches, and I wait for the axe to drop. I write to yahoo, and all I get is a form letter. This is over a free service?

How many of you believe this:

Are Q%26amp;As deleted automatically when they are reported for abuse?

No, they're not automatically deleted. Each abuse report is reviewed by a customer care agent to determine the appropriate action. It isn't possible to "attack" someone by repeatedly reporting them for abuse because deletions are not automatic. Yahoo! Answers adheres to the Yahoo! Privacy Policy.

I saw a lady saw she was going to report me, and in 2 minutes, I got a letter from Yahoo.

I'm really ticked off with all of these righteous people who thing they should turn you in, because they don't agree with you.

What is a tattletale?

Remember the whiny, insecure kid in nursery school, the one who always thought everyone was out to get him, and was always running to the teacher with complaints? Chances are he grew up to be a yahoo answers snitch!!!

Attention or Detention?

From Sue

When a Child Tattles....

Behavior Description

This child likes to 'tell on' everyone. He/she's a chronic tattletale and will be caught up in some of the following phrases: 'Erin won't let me play.............Jason is copying my work..................Kim budded in front of me in line.........Ben took Evan's snack............

Every classroom seems to have tattletales but some children become chronic and telling on others is a frequent occurrence. This child often uses tattling as a form of threatening other children. For instance: 'I'll tell on you if you don't let me play with you.'

Why?

The child who tattletales is usually seeking attention, this child needs to know the difference between appropriate 'telling on somebody' and when it isn't appropriate to tell. Tattletales do so as it gives them a sense of power.

Try and determine what the child's needs are that makes him/her want to seek attention in this fashion. Usually a tattletale has a self-esteem issue, when they tattle, somebody listens and they are gaining the attention they seek which often makes them feel important.

Interventions

Dealing with a tattletale can be tricky. Usually the tattle tale is aware of the routines and rules to be followed and tells on a child that isn't following them. This gives them the opportunity to 'look good' so to speak. It is important to listen to the tattletale, but equally so, the child needs to try and solve the problem on their own. Prompt the child as to how they could resolve the issue.

A one to one with the tattletale is also a helpful method. Remember - acknowledge that the child knows the rules/procedures but that there's a better method of dealing than becoming a tattletale. Always remind the child that there is a place for tattling and it is when a child is in danger or in trouble, for older children it could mean being involved in something illegal.

If the child is a tattle tale because it give him/her a sense of power, you could give him leadership opportunities to help deal with the tattling, focus on the child's strengths and downplay the weaknesses.

Teach the child through role playing, the value of knowing when to tattle and how to solve their own problems instead of tattling. This will take time and will require you to put some scenarios together for practice.

Children should understand the hurtful consequences of tattling and whenever possible, they should apologize for inappropriate tattling.

Children need to be part of the solution and or consequences. Always ask them how they could have resolved the issue instead of tattling.

Avoid lectures and quick irrational decisions. E.g., if you tattle again, you'll be grounded for a year! or you'll have 6 detentions"

Sometimes a tattletale always seems to 'tell on' the same child. In this case, encourage the child to find something positive to say about the child.

-Yahoo!

Have any of you ever gotten a Violation notice on Yahoo answers that seemed completely unfair and wrong?
Sorry to hear your story and I urge you contact representatives by telephone as well as writing letters to them. In my personal opinion I believe in free speech and that is why I choose to live in the U.S. instead of being a first class citizen in the developing country. Here is my two cents and You need to be honest and fair when you fight and make sure you respect others. Remember free speech is a key that we American practice every day. Good luck and try to explain to Yahoo again. This time you might get your point across. Thank you for the information and question.
Reply:You must be a very amazing person! Your comment was very well thought out and well spoken! I believe in free speech, too. Report It

Reply:yes I was deleted once for asking a question about a mental illness I have and things I can do to prevent it
Reply:yup! can't remember what it was for but it was something Innocent.
Reply:no, but it can happen anytime
Reply:Luckily, I have not been reported yet.
Reply:Yes,all the time.
Reply:Yes.

Several times.

Especially on the R %26amp; S. Some bigots can't stand it when their arguments have been demolished with facts.

I even answered a question wherein I was the one being attacked and Yahoo! deleted my answer while allowing the person who asked the question to continue violating community guidelines.
Reply:yea, i agree. i got a violation for using an = sign instead of writing out "equal", when the ? was is this equal or is one worse than the other.
Reply:lol yea ... lots of times

i agree with you even though i dident read your whole thingy , i tried, but the big words ! nooooooooo
Reply:i have been viotlated twice for askin legit ? i asked about adult toys.. i wanted to know how many females used them and if they liked them cuz my man wants me to use them..
Reply:In my opinion you are acting like the tattletale's you describe. I received two such summons. One I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The other, I felt was unfair.

The difference between me and you though is I am not going into a rage about it. Through out life you will be confronted with opposing ideas and differences. Are you going to act like a spoiled brat each time?

You have some maturing to do my friend.
Reply:last night someone posted the very same question I did a month or so ago, asking if anyone would like to say where they are from. My question was deleted, lost 5 points, but this one got posted, was allowed to be responded to and was....I still don't get it.....some people post such things as to say they have committed a violent act, and repeatidly, just worded differently every time, but same person, and those are allowed....I still don't get it.....
Reply:yes i have
Reply:yes, i was shocked when my question was deleted, i was asking an honest and g-rated question, so i wrote back and got that automatic letter. no way a live person checked it out or it would not have been deleted. it makes me not want to even come here because there are some very silly people reporting violations for no reason.
Reply:who hasn't on here?
Reply:Are we a little cranky? Maybe you should read the TOS again, cause if Yahoo doesn't "believe it to be unsuitable", then nothing will happen to you!

OMG... I just went to look at your page and this question is posted on there (still accepting new answers) like 6 or 7 times...and you want to know why you are being reported...
Reply:no i haven't but if i did get reported it would probablly be for some stuptid reason. and there is no such thing as a stuptid question or a stuptid answer.(actually yes there is but if it makes u feel betteru can say that) (if i were u i would find the person who reported u and report them that's wat i would do!)
Reply:Amen. I agree! I got in trouble because some one asked a stupid question, and so I gave a stupid answer. The person reported me. You know what? If you want to ask a question, you are going to get opinions. Some are stupid, and some are good. We don't need to tattle. We aren't in Elementary School.

Yahoo Messenger 8 Unsafe??

I just found this on IWebRadio.com:

NOTE: Users of Yahoo Messenger 8! A virus or code has been inserted into the Yahoo Messenger Beta 8 program. Looks like Yahoo must have hired a former AOL Programmer. It will send a message to the people in your buddy list from you sending them to a website on Geocities UK to view some "Drunk Pics" This site is a Phishing site designed to look like a Yahoo Page and will as them to login with their Yahoo Name and Password. It will also add this code to their installed versions of Yahoo Messenger. We recommend you change your password, uninstall Ver 8 and install the last version of Yahoo Messenger 7.5! You can download it from www.oldversion.com We have no way of knowing how long Yahoo will take to fix this so we suggest you DONT update to the latest version until it IS declared safe!

Any idea if there is any truth in this as it has got me worried about version 8! Thanks.

Nathon.

Yahoo Messenger 8 Unsafe??
No. This is entirely untrue. There have been some problems with v8 Beta ... I think especially when upgrading from v7.5.

There are some spam/phishing messages currently making rounds which send links to undesirable websites but nothing in the actual program itself.

The only likely justification for any truth in this is that one of the many plugins which can be installed as extras to v8 is the culprit. Yahoo released the SDK for creating plugins and anybody may do this but only the ones with the Y! logo can be supported by Yahoo.
Reply:Using the Internet is 'dangerous' of course (in terms of all the undesirable stuff out there). I have always had up to date anti-virus, firewall and anti-spyware installed and I've never yet had any serious problem with chat/messenger software (I don't use chat rooms very much at all, though!) Report It

Reply:i'm having this prob... hope it gets solved by installing yahoo messenger 7.5 Report It

Reply:i am not using it. anyways thanks for the information.
Reply:Thanks for the heads up,, I have not had a problem as of yet,, hope its not true but I will tell all my friends that this may occur

again thanks
Reply:All instant messaging software is inherently unsafe due to its design. I make a good living removing viruses and malware from computers owned by adults and used by their kids for online chatting.

Will Yahoo Mail be deactivated if you just log into your Yahoo Groups or Yahoo Messenger only?

I reactivated the Yahoo Mail a while ago to test something, But I no longer plan to use the mail, I been told that if you don't log onto Yahoo Mail for 3 months, It deactivates. But I would like to know if logging onto Yahoo Messenger or into the Yahoo Groups would make it not to deactivate after the 3 months? I don't plan on using the mail, But still access my Yahoo ID for my other things like my Yahoo Messenger or the Groups and everything else from Yahoo.com

Will Yahoo Mail be deactivated if you just log into your Yahoo Groups or Yahoo Messenger only?
no

ur mail is attached with ur account

it will not be deactivated
Reply:Probably, if it is inactive within 6 months.
Reply:The way I understand it, and this has happened to me, an account is deactivated in you do not sign in for a period of either 60 or 90 days. By signing into your Y! Groups account you will keep the account active, since you are signing-in to the account. I guess using Messenger will work, too, since it accesses the user database.
Reply:Those will still work even if your yahoo mail is deactivated.
Reply:3 months it is deactivated and have to sign up again if u use messenger than it is active.
Reply:no

Yahoo clsoing peoples email accounts?
fake
Reply:Im sure its a fake.

forward the whole email to spoof@yahoo.com
Reply:This is fake - it has been going around Yahoo for years now. Like someone else mentioned, why would Yahoo ask anyone to forward it to all their friends when they have the ability to mass email all their clients.

Hope this helps.
Reply:This doesn't sound like something Yahoo would do. I would be wary that this is a scam and not really coming from Yahoo. Hopefully a Yahoo official can answer this question.
Reply:right

some people have many emails and some other had an old email and they don't use any more

so these people will not forward the email in a month and there email will be deleted and some other might have it

but you don't have to be afraid, just forward that email and they won't delete you account
Reply:its nothing but a big fraud work by some anti-social elements.. who want2 create panic in yahoo's esteemed customers...

i say 100% its fake... pure lie... as u (we) know yahoo is such a big company and has so much online advertisers so it has no financial loss...

so u can b relax.. and continue vth our yahoo.com joyfully...

Reply:i been getting those for years %26amp; mine was never closed
Reply:Sounds like a SCAM to me. Better check you system and see if this FAKE mail contained a virus, worm or spyware....... Good Luck
Reply:It's oviously fake. Why would yahoo ask you to foward an email to 20 people? They have the ability to send a mass email to every account they have. They wouldn't want you to send the emails to other people because there's the possibility of people getting multiple emails in their box.

Yahoo answer world ban with me to fight back at the Powers that be. the people in control of yahoo answer has?
All of your questions that are on your profile are showing that they HAVE answers. Not many, but then, many people are reporting that they are receiving fewer answers these days. If you are supposed to be getting emails with the answers, you might have marked one of those as SPAM and the answers may now be going to your SPAM/BULK folder.

As to the error message, you may possibly have a corrupt cache file -- it makes all KINDS of things go wonky. Try this: clear your history, temporary files (these will take a while!) %26amp; cookies, restart the computer and retry. Here is the HELP link for how to do this in different browsers: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya...

Yahoo is FAMOUS for clobbering the cache files for some reason, so clearing your cache should be a regular thing to do if you spend much time on ANY Yahoo site.

YAHOO DELETED MY EMAIL ACCOUNT FOR DOING A GOOD DEED,HOW CAN I get them back?

1997,The Internet,Yahoo,Emailing was young. I opened 2 Yahoo email accounts with a fake(funny) name as i thought at the time, everyone did.

2004,years of using my Yahoo email accounts everyday, never a problem. One day i got a 'phishing' email, a fraud email asking me for my citibank account number. I dont do business with Citibank and it was obvious a fraud email. So i thought to tell Yahoo, my good deed.

First, i tried to copy the fraud email contents so i could paste them on an email to Yahoo. The fraud email would not 'copy and paste'! using the normal ways. So i had an idea as i was just learning how to use Geocities.

I opened up Geocity, uploaded the 'fraud email page', and made a page out of the fraud email page. I then emailed Yahoo security about the fraudemail. Two days later i went to open up my email account,CLOSED. I used a second email account and wrote Yahoo, teliing them everything i wrote here. Yahoo closed THAT account. I want those accounts back! How?

YAHOO DELETED MY EMAIL ACCOUNT FOR DOING A GOOD DEED,HOW CAN I get them back?
Wow, I hope you can get a hold of someone at Yahoo. That exact same thing happened to my roomate. He forwarded a phishing email to report it and got his account closed too! Not on Yahoo, but another email service. After writing a complaint letter about it he got the account back in a week or two.

What are you supposed to do???? How stupid is that~!
Reply:I know of this great new email provider. It's called BigString (http://www.bigstring.com). It offers revolutionary features. When you send mail from your BigString %26lt;a href="http://www.bigstring.com... email account%26lt;/a%26gt; you can self-destruct or change an email that's already been sent or read. Report It

Reply:once you tick yahoo off enough to delete your account it is gone forever. even if you offer them money you can forget it.
Reply:Forget it you got caught and punished be glad you did not get jail time
Reply:They get tonnes of email, and probably didn't read it properly, not understanding your report, thus deleting your accounts thinking that you where the one at fault.......

I'm afraid those email accounts are dust now.......
Reply:I am happy I am on Yahoo answers. I learnt something today. Glad I did not do any on those fraud emails

YAHOO IS A RIP OFF!! Now charging to use Flicker.?

I've had my Yahoo! account for about 8 years now and uploaded about 8,000 photos to Yahoo! photos over the last several years. Anyone who used Yahoo! photos knows earlier this year Yahoo! photos was shut down and you had to move all your photos or they would be lost. Yahoo! recommended everyone move there pics to Flicker (also owned my Yahoo!). They advertised Flicker as being free...WELL ITS NOT! I got an email this morning saying my "trial" version of of Flicker is almost up and I need to pay $24.99 to keep using Flicker. Otherwise Flicker will only allow me to view the last 200 pictures uploaded. WHAT A RIP OFF! I could have transferred my photos to an actual free site but instead I believed Yahoo! and now I'll be charged to use Flicker. Does anyone know of an easy way to transfer all my pictures to an actual free site? I dont think there is an easy way to do it. IT SUX THAT YAHOO! TRICKED US INTO USING FLICKER AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO RIP US OFF!

YAHOO IS A RIP OFF!! Now charging to use Flicker.?
oh wow!!! i didn't know that. yea, that is a rip off and i would contact yahoo quick if i were you!

Yahoo staff know something about Romania and Romanian Market? We can hope that someday we will have Yahoo.ro?

In Romania Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger have a lot of users and a few companies like Vodafone already bought publicity from Yahoo and directed the publicity to Romanians users of Yahoo.

Also I know that a great romanian company named Neogen (web portal) has a few sites across Balkans, in Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Serbia, Muntenegru, Croatia, Bosnia %26amp; Hertegovina, Macedonia and Slovenia. I think this portal can be a great oportunity for Yahoo to be present in these small but interesting countries. Also I hope that the guys from Neogen can be convinced to accept a Yahoo offer.

I'm a dreamer... :), but I want a Yahoo.ro address :)

Yahoo staff know something about Romania and Romanian Market? We can hope that someday we will have Yahoo.ro?
I totally agree with you that all people around the world should have a Yahoo service that is specific to their country or culture. If you want you can post a suggestion on the Yahoo Suggestion Board for Developing Networks and have anyone you know post and maybe they will consider enacting a Yahoo Romania. Heres the link to the board:

http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=ydn
Reply:Indeed the romanians and all the peoples from eastern europe must have soon a Yahoo portal (based or not based to an existing one).

Yahoo we need you! :)
Reply:.ro is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Romania. It is administered by the National Institute for R%26amp;D in Informatics. As of May 2004, 64,000 domains were registered under the .ro domain.
Reply:Ya, me too!

I want a Yahoo.ro address, and also I think our brothers hungarians, bulgarians and others need also a Yahoo in their languages.

Thanks for asking this question!

I hope that someone from Yahoo already read it.

Good bye!
Reply:The answer to your question is simply "No". They don't know even were is placed Romania on the map (it is a north-African or middle-Asian country, for them, perhaps).

Why to come in Romania, in the middle of nowhere? :))
Reply:yahoo.ro? since when? i'm whaiting it too much long time...
Reply:I don't think this will happen too soon... even if I'd like an yahoo.ro too :)
Reply:That would be really great. I was actually thinking of the same thing some time ago. Congrats' for the initiative!
Reply:I'm sure that with the size of the potential market in Romania, it won't be long before the big internet giants move in, Yahoo included.

Until then, patience my friend!

Disable yahoo email, but keep yahoo account?

i would like to disable my yahoo email, but keep yahoo account, so that i can continue to use yahoo messenger and yahoo games, how can this be done?

I want the email to be disabled, so that all emails to my yahoo email will receive an error msg from postmaster (unreached recipient, or mailbox unavailable)

I guess this is the better way to handle spam emails problems (i received %26gt;200 per day!!, it's f***) i am finding valueable emails inside a "rubbish can"...

i having the same problem with my hotmail account previously (lot of spam mails), i left it deactivated, after some times, i registered back using same user name, the spam mail problem gone. i am thinking to have same way for yahoo account, but i can't let go yahoo messenger and yahoo games..

how to do that?

Disable yahoo email, but keep yahoo account?
you can create an alias that you can use for games off the same yahoo- ie: imtiggs2.games@yahoo.com and any mail pertaining to the games will come to the original box but you will see

imtiggs2.games@yahoo.com and amything else that you do not recognize you can immediately delete DO A QUICK SORT AND YOU ARE SET!

its probably just get say another one and change all your impt mail to that account, but still use the original for games.

this way - you dont miss the mail, you can still KEEP the name you want for games and eventually all the spam mail will slow down and u will not get anything.

ONLY SEND WHAT YOU WANT TO THE NEW ONE and you wont get spam

Sort your incoming mail automatically into designated folders or to your mobile device. Filter out unsolicited email.

I WOULD DO BOTH-

(IM NOT DONE- GOTTA REWORD THIS...AND 'I HAVE AN IDEA, BUT I AM SERCHING FOR IT-

DONT DELETE-OK STAY TUNED
Reply:Ohhh.. i don't think you can do that. i would recommend you just creat another yahoo email and not respond to the first one you created.

i love yahoo games and answers!!!

Is yahoo answers breaking its own guidelinesn ?

im not saying all of you are what im asking is yahoo say they will remove any question . that they see as breaking the guidelines. but when Copyright Law's .are broken everyday on yahoo answers . yahoo do not remove the question . movie music .software Copyright Law's are broken everyday . and yahoo answers let the Question stop on the post .for all to see and they yahoo say they have the right to remove posted Question's

Is yahoo answers breaking its own guidelinesn ?
I agree.
Reply:I agree with you that it's a shame when people download music, movies, etc. illegally, but I don't think you could claim it's a crime to be aware of the sites that allow people to do this, or to tell others about them. Report It

Reply:yes i agree
Reply:I suppose you have a point there, Sir.

Do have a nice day
Reply:This is what I think....

I dont think they read the reports. Theres so many of them, theyre pushing them thru. Its a problem they need to fix.

Ppl are being reported for poor reasons. Its unfair to so many of the users here. This is why so many are leaving this site.
Reply:I don't think anyone can stop it. It's to bad, but people have for centurys tryed to beat the system %26amp; will continue to do so, for many more.
Reply:Yahoo is providing an open forum for peers to ask/answer questions on any number of different topics. In regards to the Limewire and software key examples, there is no culpability on Yahoo's part when in an open forum and answer provided by a third party that suggests an illegal act. It would be no different if I asked "where do I get free money?" Someone could answer "rob a bank." It is up to the user to decied whether he/she breaks the law. This isn't Wikipoeadia and it's not a legal forum either. Your issue is the ethicality and morality of topics discussed here, get over it, people are flawed and since the dawn of time will try to get ahead by breaking the laws.
Reply:I agree. By the way, the Yahoo Answers team has set a very poor example. So far, on the the home page where they have the new "Best of Answers," they have featured 3 plagiarized answers. In addition, they have featured at least 4 questions with wrong answers. These have been pointed out to them on the forum, and it has often taken a long time to remove them and/or they are still there. Ironically, one of them was removed and then reappeared on this page.

The Yahoo Answers team needs to start by leading by example. Secondly, they need to make sure people are aware of the guidelines in general, including copyright issues. Third, they need to enforce those guidelines.

In this case, encourage the child to find something positive to say about the child.

if you really feel that you have unjustly been reported please contact yahoo answers on the following email address.

y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

you can always post how you feel in the forum by clicking on the link above. the yahoo answers team often visit there and have given many people answers to why they have been reported for abuse.

i would suggest that you just keep it simple, they wont read it if its too long. good luck.
Reply:You get what you pay for. Yahoo is free. You really can't expect a free service to care how you feel.

I think they should have a kids vs adult area of yahoo answers. that would probably solve alot of these violation problems.

I used the phrase "ball buster" and somone freaked out on me. I am also getting pretty tired of relationship advice like 'leave him a note on his locker'

Realistically though, what would happen? You make a new account and lose those 'valuable' points? there's alot of things worse than that - like freezer burn.......
Reply:Yikes.

I'm not sure what you were reported for, but if it was unfair then you have a right to be upset.
Reply:I think if someone is being mean to someone for no good reason, just to be a jerk I guess, then that may be a reportable offense, but if people are just kidding around and having fun, then I don't think it's right that someone (who probably wasn't even a part of the conversation in the first place, am I right?) reports someone else just 'cause they used a word the reporter didn't like (e.g. "ballbuster")
Reply:I agree with you; as a person who calls it like I see it with not a hint of political correctness, I've had answers that I've given to inane or perverse individuals deleted. At the same time, when I report things such as blatant attempts at using Answers for a spam marketing forum, the thing stays up there untouched. I don't get so worked up over it, though. I just chalk it up to a pc liberal young staff who label anything with controversial substance "mean spirited and hurtful". It doesn't stop me, though.

What is your opinion about Yahoo's Decision on my appeal?

Hi I.am.bill,

We're sorry, but upon review we found that the following question was indeed in violation of the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines:

"What is a "typical white" for Mr %26amp; Mrs Obama?"

Violation Reason:

As a result, your question will remain removed from Yahoo! Answers, and 10 points have been deducted from your account.

If after reading the Answers Community Guidelines, and the Yahoo! Terms of Service, you feel strongly that you̢۪re appeal should not have been declined, you can request a review of your appeal on the Yahoo! Answers Appeals Board.

Go to the Yahoo! Answers Appeals Board:

http://messages.answers.yahoo.com/answer...

Please note: Your use of Yahoo! Answers is subject to the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines, Yahoo! Community Guidelines, and also the Yahoo! Terms of Service. Members who have violated the Community Guidelines are at risk for review and possible termination of their Answers accounts. In extreme cases, members who have also violated the Yahoo! Terms of Service risk losing their Yahoo! ID and access to other Yahoo! services.

Thanks,

What is your opinion about Yahoo's Decision on my appeal?
You made the mistake of saying something about Obama. YA doesn't like that.
Reply:I think that Bill is an Obama supporter that doesn't want challenging questions being asked about his guy.
Reply:What you got was a standard letter.. They don't even read what you wrote I don't think... I have gotten several myself... All it takes you know, is 2 people to report your post for what ever reason and then you get a letter and appeal and nothing changes ,,, get used to it.. it is like the republican party... They do what they want..
Reply:I guess there are people out there that found that offensive and instead of answering went an told on you.
Reply:Simple if you don't "agree" with the Obamakins on the Yahoo board, they will deduct points.

The question was probably deemed to be "racist"...even though the Great Obama said it himself, just another example of the blatant reverse racism

Its happened to me several times for answering someones question

Yahoo Beta no longer works with Firefox 2.0.0.6 and Ubuntu 7.04, why?

This seems to be a recurring problem with people but no one will answer it. Their answer is to look it up somewhere else and it seems to be a "resolved" question. It doesn't sound resolved to me.

I have been running Ubuntu 7.04 and Foxfire 2.0.0.+ for several months now with the Yahoo "Beta" and the regular My Yahoo. When My Yahoo Beta came out a couple of days ago it ran just fine. As of Friday 10/19/07 PM I could not log into Yahoo Beta. Why? I don't know. I had to boot up Windows XP to check and it worked just fine. I went back to Ubuntu and got My Yahoo Beta switched back to the old one and I can still not get into Yahoo "Beta". I had to switch to the old Yahoo mail (Which I really don't like now) and am able to view e-mails.

How come Yahoo "Beta" does not support Linux (Ubuntu) and/or FireFox 2.0.0.6 anymore?

Please do not comment and make this a resolved question if you DON'T have the answer. I would like this answered CORRECTLY.

The Agent Switcher DOES NOT WORK. I tried.

Yahoo Beta no longer works with Firefox 2.0.0.6 and Ubuntu 7.04, why?

Spoof Email From Yahoo Or Not? Says At Top Yahoo Domain Keys Has Verified That This Message is From Yahoo.com?
It's a phishing scam; it's not coming from Yahoo. The address you see in the "From" field can easily be spoofed. (For example, EVERY spam email that you receive has a spoofed email address in the "From" field in order to hide the true origin of the message.)

Yahoo will never ask for your password via email, or in any manner other than the normal Sign In process.

Yahoo answers only should reply this question, why yahoo answers not giving negative marks for wrong answer.?

I have checked some answers that some body replied as "is it a question" this certainly sends a message to yahoo community that they dont have freedom to ask a question about that they dont know. What is wrong in it. The yahoo community should know things dont know.So i request the yahoo answers that u must give negative marks of 10 as u r giving for best answer10 marks. So that the members also can understand. If not there should be a negative marking option people can vote for that also.Other wise people with a half knowlede give answers may cause the damage the entire yahoo community. The members of yahoo like me expect for realistic answers to get their problems solved. I am indeed sorry for the inconvience caused for for yahoo answers. I request all the members in the larger interest of yahoo commnity to vote for this for getting only for best answers for you to get your problems solved instead of wasting your time to check every body answers. Pl. note that you must get u need,

Yahoo answers only should reply this question, why yahoo answers not giving negative marks for wrong answer.?
when people are asking a question, basically most answers given are opinions, and opinions dont have a wrong or right answer, and there is the ones who actually do know what they are talking about. if yahoo took away points, most people wouldnt even be on this. just ignore any negetive response, what else can you do?

Yahoo is not listing 9 out of 10 groups I belong to today, Aug 20, 2008? Why?

I belong to 10 yahoo groups. Yahoo is only showing that I belong to 1 group today. Yahoo stated that my email addresses were unverifable, which is not true. I have not changed my email addresses in over a year and they both were mark verified by yahoo when I checked my yahoo personal account.

Is anyone else having yahoo group porblems today?

What can I do about it? How do I contact Yahoo to let them know that they removed 9 out of 10 of my groups?

I friend of mine was able to verify in a group that does not appear for me, that I am still a memebr there and that yahoo did not accidently unsub me.

Please help!

Try again later. Sometimes Yahoos systems get a bit flaky. If you have no luck later or tomorrow, try the Edit My Groups page:

Reports: Microsoft pursuing Yahoo (IF THIS ACQUISITION IS .SEALED I WILL QUIT YAHOO FOR GOOGLE...)?

I just read this today (05/04/2007) from the following link on yahoo....http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070504/ap_o...

I think this is really sickening to my bowels, by the fact that microsoft wants to buy yahoo. I am really against this idea and it does not stand upto Yahoo's mission statement of "to connect people to their passions, their communities and the world's knowledge" One reason yahoo has turned out to be a great site is the way it has tailored its service to the common man, and its continued pursuit of excellence. Microsoft has turned all its services into money sucking schemes, that there is virtualy nothing for free to the common man. That is one reason they don't have e.g. good chatrooms like yahoo's, e-mail and knews. If you are reading this and you love yahoo, please lets protest this idea of microsoft buying or continuing to associate with yahoo in any capacity whatsoever! This monster should not be let to acquire Yahoo. Pass this to everyone please!

Reports: Microsoft pursuing Yahoo (IF THIS ACQUISITION IS .SEALED I WILL QUIT YAHOO FOR GOOGLE...)?
I do not believe that protests, however massive they may be, would change anything in regard to this matter. I share your opinion about Microsoft, but I suspect that if Billyboy offers Yahoo enough money, the owners will accept sooner or later...
Reply:There's nothing wrong with microsoft, or yahoo they both have lots of problems, just like everyother company does Yahoo also has money sucking schemes as you say yahoo charges for a lot of things. also if microsoft names the right price i bet yahoo would sell money talks, anybody will sell anything if they get the price they want

Yahoo! Toolbar - Firefox. How can I get the files from Yahoo Bookmarks to Firefox?

After refusing to move to the new Yahoo Toolbar in IE6 and keep using the old one, this morning I was forced to move by Yahoo. The new Toolbar 7.0.x is good enough except for the annoying Uncategorized Folder. But overall all is OK....

At home I use Firefox and not IE6. I usually use Yahoo Companion add-on, not from Yahoo, but could read Yahoo Bookmarks. Again, today I am forced to move.

I avoid the new Yahoo Toolbar in Firefox because I lose many of my bookmark files, mostly the ones kept in Folders-in-Folders. Now today I see this again. I could not see half of my bookmarks.

Anyone could help? I wrote to the Yahoo Toolbar Developers several months ago, but no answer.

Yahoo! Toolbar - Firefox. How can I get the files from Yahoo Bookmarks to Firefox?
I'm sorry but you go through a lot of blah, blah, blah to say you had to upgrade the Yahoo toolbar on IE and Firefox. Great. Since Yahoo! Bookmarks are portable, what shows up on IE should also show up on Firefox. If the bookmarks are not showing up on Firefox, it is a bug and should be reported to Yahoo! Customer Care.

How to configure Yahoo! MX records?

I use my Yahoo! account to send/receive all my personal email. I also have my own domain name hosted by a non-Yahoo service. That company has created an email alias for me so that email sent to myname@mydomain.com is forwarded to my Yahoo! email account ... myname@yahoo.com.

Here is my question ..... I want my outgoing mail from Yahoo! to identify me as myname@mydomain.com instead of myname@yahoo.com. I am paying Yahoo! $35/year for their "Yahoo! Mail Personal Address", which says that I can do this. However Yahoo! seems to be strongholding me to have them host my domain as well and I do not want to leave my current web host.

My current website host tells me they can configure the MX records on their end to allow me to do that with my Yahoo! email account, but they need to know what Yahoo!'s MX records are. Help!

How to configure Yahoo! MX records?
I believe you can get the MX records through the domain control panel. Look for the area where you can configure name servers and redirects and I believe the MX records are at the bottom of that page.

Hello,

These days many Yahoo users are facing these problem. Many time you get mail or sms about a lottery or a bank acount that you have won or some dead account money will be transfered to you and etc. Friends, these all things are spam and meant for troubling users and filling the inboxes and to send fraud sms. The e-mail id's and the url from which the message sare send is fraud and inlegal. This is all fake and spam. Spam is any message that's sent to multiple recipients who haven't specifically requested the message. In other words, spam is crap.Spammers typically purchase or harvest a list of email addresses. They send messages from numerous different addresses to all areas of the Web. These messages tend to be "forged," to hide who actually sent them.

Yahoo is committed to eliminating spam—eyuck! And you've got great tools to help keep spam out of your Inbox.

Yahoo! SpamGuard

Keep Yahoo! SpamGuard turned on. To check if it’s on:

Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Mail page.

Click Spam Protection from the list on the left.

In the “Spam Filter” section, do you see “SpamGuard is ON”? If not, turn it on by clicking the link: Turn SpamGuard ON.

In the area above your spam options, click Save Changes.

In this same section, you can also specify how often you’d like us to empty your Bulk folder (we do it automatically once a month, but you have options to empty it faster), as well as indicating your preference for showing—or blocking—images. Image blocking is another way to fend off spam!

Image Blocking

Keep Image Blocking on. Image blocking defeats the “hits” spammers receive whenever one of their images is “viewed”—which can include the moment you select a spam message before you click Spam. Here’s how to block images:

Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Mail page.

Under Spam, click Spam Protection.

At the bottom of the page—“Step 1 of 3: Spam Filter”—click Continue.

At the bottom of the next page—“Step 2 of 3: Marking Messages as Spam or Not Spam”—click Continue.

On “Step 3 of 3: Image Blocking”, select “Block all images”.

The Spam button

If you get a spam message in your Inbox, check the box beside it, then click Spam. This alerts us to the latest tricks and techniques that spammers are using, and helps us clamp down tighter and fight spam more effectively.

If you change your mind or think you made a mistake, just look for the next message from that sender in your Bulk folder and click Not Spam to reverse your vote.

What should you not do with spam%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

Never open a spam message (or any message from a sender you don’t recognize) unless you have the "Block HTML graphics" setting on. If you view HTML images in an email, spammers are alerted that you opened their message. So how do you turn on the Block HTML function?

Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Mail page.

Under “Management”, click General Preferences.

Scroll down to the “Messages” section, and next to “Security:”, check the box beside “Block HTML graphics in email...”

At the bottom of the page, on the left, click Save.

Never respond to spam. To the individuals who send spam, one response or "hit" among thousands of mailings is enough to justify the practice.

Never respond to the spam email's instructions to reply with the word "remove" unless you trust or know the sender. Many spammers use the "remove" or "unsubscribe" links as a ploy to get you to react to the email. This may alert the sender that your email address is open and available to receive mail, which greatly increases its value. If you reply, your address may be placed on more lists, resulting in more spam.

Never click on a URL or web site address listed within a spam email. This could alert the site to the validity of your email address, potentially resulting in more spam.

Never sign up with sites that promise to remove your name from spam lists. Although some of these sites may be legitimate, more often than not, they are address collectors. The legitimate sites are ignored (or exploited) by the spammers, and the address collection sites are owned by spammers. In both cases, your address is recorded and valued more highly because you have just identified that your address is active.

This is a long but a full answer, hope it help's.
Reply:It's a SCAM, and it is attempting to get your personal information... and probably your money too. If there were a Yahoo contest like this, you can be sure Yahoo would be advertising it heavily all over its various sites.

My Yahoo Beta Uninstall?

After I do the following procedure I have the My Yahoo classic screen at my.yahoo.com - but after I close the browser (Firefox) and then reopen it goes to http://cm.my.yahoo.com/?rd=nux. How do I stop it from doing this. Even if I manually type in http://my.yahoo.com it still goes to http://cm.my.yahoo.com/?rd=nux.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

1. Go to new My Yahoo! and at the bottom click "Switch to original My Yahoo!

2. You'll see a new page with "I'll stay" and "Switch Back" button, click "Switch Back"

3. On the next screen you'll see "See Your Page" and "Cancel" click "Cancel"

4. Now you'll see Classic My Yahoo and your homepage (your HOME button) needs to be set on your browser to http://my.yahoo.com

There is NO LINK at the top of the page or the bottom of the page to Switch Back! So it is impossible for me to switch back using the aforementioned method.

All my bookmarks have disappeared also. They are supposed to be in a category called My Quicklinks, but that doesn't exist either in MyYahoo Beta.

How do I get back to square one?

This is a SCAM. Check out the below link for confirmation of various lottery scams, including the famous Yahoo/MSN lottery scams and how to report them.

http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/lo...

Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Just remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace, hopefully along with the thieving scumbags who send them.

Why does yahoo use yahoo.com for us and not yahoo.us?

Why does yahoo use yahoo.com for us and not yahoo.us they own both yahoo use's country codes for everyother yahoo website yahoo.co.uk , yahoo.ca yahoo.com.mx and etc.

Why does yahoo use yahoo.com for us and not yahoo.us?
I think it depends where your ISP is from. On a recent trip to Thailand, I used the computers at the hotel I was staying at and yahoo.com brought me to Yahoo Thailand. I had to put the extra .us to get to the Yahoo in the US.
Reply:Since the majority of Yahoo Mail users registered for addresses using yahoo.com before the introduction of .us addresses and subsequently, yahoo.us; Yahoo continues to use yahoo.com for all of its US users to keep its trademark email addresses.

The problem is most easily illustrated by having millions of email addresses converted from one domain to the next. Numerous business users and/or individuals who rely on their Yahoo Mail as their primary email account will have to notify their correspondents regarding the change and new business cards, etc. would have to be printed. That is a major hassle for users and would definately drive away valuable users from Yahoo Mail.
Reply:Not only was the Internet invented by the US, but most of the Yahoo! servers are located in the US.

And of course, the US came up with .com(mercial)
Reply:that's a very good question, why dont you ask them about it

good luck
