I'm not sure if this option is available in the Philippines, hopefuly some one knows the answer to this.

I copied this off of the Yahoo link above:

Talk is cheap! To see the subscription rates for the Yahoo! Phone In service, please go to the Yahoo! Phone In page. We give you the ability to pay monthly, or for additional savings, a year in advance. You only pay a flat fee for your Yahoo! Phone In telephone number. Yahoo! will not charge you for the incoming calls you might receive.

Does anyone know if this feature is available from the Philippines to the USA, or if it is a good idea?

If Phone In is available in the Philippines I would not recommend it as a way for you to contact someone there, nor would I recommend using the "Phone In" feature on your computer here in the US as a way for anyone in the Philippines to contact you. All this feature does is assign your computer a telephone number, effectively making your computer just another phone like any other. Anyone calling that number from the Philippines would still be making an international call as they'd still be dialing a US phone number from a traditional telephone.

You'd be much better off subscribing to the "Phone Out" feature. This would let you call a land line in the Philippines from your home computer in the US for 15.9¢ per minute or 19.9¢ for a mobile number in the Philippines. The subscription process for this is a bit awkward, it takes about a week after subscribing before you can use the service so make sure you read and understand all of the information on every page if you decide to try it out.

If any response you receive to any question satisfactorily resolves your issue please select it as Best Answer instead of allowing your question to go to voting. This adds helpful information to the database which may later assist another user and returns three of the five points you spent to ask this question. It also removes the potential for vote fraud.
