Flickr is a yahoo company, but for some reason yahoo is closing down yahoo photos, and instead we can use flickr. cool enough. but yahoo photos, where simpler. but fair enough. but if Flickr is a yahoo program. why on earth can't yahoo, make it possible to transfer your yahoo photos account, directly to your new flickr account.
Now i have to download every single picture in my yahoo folders, only to add them 6 pictures at a time. to my new flicr account.
seems idiotic when Flickr is a pard of yahoo.
yahoo photo sync. features in yahoo go. was really cool, but now with Flickr. you have to do everything manually. kinda a kick back in progress :'-(
Yahoo vs. flickr?
More setbacks for users with a free account:
#1: you may only upload 100MB per month
#2: a single pic can be only up to 5MB
#3: only the latest 200 of your pics are displayed in the fotostream, if you want to view your older pics, you either have to pay for a Pro account or make sure that you don't forget the static url's to each of your pics.
#4: you can only create 3 albums
#5: you cannot change anything within your original account
#6: flickr may delete an account after 90 days of nonusage (although they claim, that they haven't done it yet)
#7: you may not enter your pics in more than 10 groups simultaniously
#8: users with a free account cannot offer the download of their pics in the original high resolution version
#9: Only users of a Pro account don't have the limitations mentioned above and a single pic may have up to 10MB.
#10: A Pro account is also not always free of commercial ads, flickr has the right to add commercials should your account ever get very popular (after being promoted on TV for example).
#11: Yahoo! photos users, who transport their pics to flickr, are not able to download the high resolution pics they once uploaded to Yahoo! All they can download is the low resolution version. If they want to get their high resolution pics, they are forced to buy a cd from Yahoo with their saved pics on it. (Isn't that nice to pay for something which is yours in the first place?)
#12: Yahoo! photos users who switch to flickr, get a free Pro account during the first 3 months. After that, they either have to pay for a Pro account or their account will be downgraded automatically.
Note: I'm not saying, that flickr is a bad service, but they are not disclosing all the facts readyly, so that users may truly know what they are getting into!
Reply:No, you can move all your photos to Flickr with one click. See here:

Reply:You are correct.... Flicker is not as good, in fact it sucks.
Reply:Before you started ranting and - pardon my French - making a fool of yourself, you should have checked your facts. You CAN transfer the content of your Yahoo! Photos account in one go to a Flickr account. Even better still, Yahoo! offers to do it for you and gives you a 3 month free of charge Flickr Pro account in the process.

Should you decide not to go with Flickr, Yahoo! even offers you a few alternatives:
